Counter strike Global Offence

COUNTER STRIKE 2K14
Gameplay

In-game screenshot of a player on the Terrorist team holding an 'M4A1-S Atomic Alloy'.

Like the previous games in the series, Global Offensive is an objective-based multiplayer first-person shooter. Each player joins either the Terrorist or Counter-Terrorist team and attempts to complete objectives or eliminate the enemy team. The game operates in short rounds that end when all players on one side are dead or a team's objective is completed. For most game modes, once a player dies, they must wait until the round ends to respawn.

Players purchase weapons and equipment at the beginning of every round with money awarded based on their performance. Completing objectives or killing enemies earns the player money while negative actions, like killing a teammate or hostage, takes money away from the player. In addition, when a round ends all players receive some amount of money, with players on the winning team receiving substantially more.[5]

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive adds new weapons and equipment not seen in previous installments, most notably the firebomb for each side. These temporarily cover a small area in fire, dealing damage to anyone passing through.[6][7]

Cosmetic items, such as weapon finishes, were added post-release.[8]
Game modes

Currently, Global Offensive features five game modes for online play:
Classic Casual and Competitive: Counter-Strike‍ 's most well-known game mode, both involving Bomb Scenario and Hostage Scenario missions.[9] At the start of each round, players can purchase weapons and gear with money earned from various actions, from assisting on kills to completing objectives. Regardless of mission type, a round ends when one team completes an objective, eliminates the other team, or lets the timer run out. If the timer runs out before one of these objectives are completed, the team which did not need to complete an objective wins.
Bomb Scenario: the Terrorists must plant a C4 explosive at one of two designated bombsites and protect it until its countdown finishes and detonates; the Counter-Terrorists must prevent the bomb from exploding, either ensuring that the terrorist team does not plant it or defusing it once it is planted.[10]
Hostage Scenario: the Counter-Terrorists must rescue hostages from the Terrorists, and bring them to an extraction point; the Terrorists must prevent the hostages from escaping. If a Terrorist or Counter-Terrorist attempts to kill hostage, they will suffer a heavy cash penalty. An update later changed how Counter-Terrorists rescue hostages: instead of leading them around,[11] players must carry one hostage at a time to the extraction point.[12][13]
Arms Race: a deathmatch-based mode where each player is rewarded for each kill with a new weapon, with the first player to get a kill with every weapon in a predetermined set winning the game.[14][15]
Demolition: a round-based mode that removes weapon and equipment purchasing, instead rewarding players who manage at least one kill by giving the next weapon in a predetermined set of weapons. After a second kill with that weapon the players are also rewarded a grenade along with their new weapon for the next round.[16][17]
Deathmatch (added on November 12, 2012): a mode consisting of 10-minute matches.[18] Players must gain the highest possible score by earning kills with different weapons or desired weapons. The number of points from a kill depend on the weapon. Players may also take advantage of bonus timers for different weapons, using them to score extra points. Like in Arms Race, players automatically respawn after getting killed, but also when they choose to respawn with bonus weapons.[18][19]

Global Offensive also offers two offline modes: Offline with Bots, which offers the same game modes with AI-controlled bots; and a Weapons Course, a single player map serving as a tutorial and a training mode.[20]
Online play

Global Offensive supports matchmaking and leaderboards for all online game modes, provided by Steam.[21] The provided online service offers the ability to filter by game modes, maps and a built-in Steam friend system. Valve also employs Valve Anti-Cheat, which can automatically remove and ban players from the Valve online network. To match players of similar skill levels for an enjoyable experience, the game uses a heavily modified version of Elo rating system.[3] The PC version of Global Offensive also supports private dedicated servers that the player may connect to through the community server menu in-game. These servers may be heavily modified and can be completely different from the base game.[22]
Development

Global Offensive began as a port of Counter-Strike: Source to Xbox Live Arcade by Hidden Path Entertainment. During the development Valve saw the opportunity to turn the port into a full game and expand on Counter-Strike‍ 's gameplay. Global Offensive began development in March 2010 and was revealed to the public on August 12, 2011.[23][24]

The closed beta started on November 30, 2011, and was initially restricted to around ten thousand people who received a key at events Valve attended to showcase Global Offensive. After issues such as client and server stability were addressed the beta was opened up to progressively more and more people (approximately 100,000 beta keys were given out as of July 4, 2012), until the beta became open for anybody to join and play.[25] Before the public beta Valve invited professional Counter-Strike and Counter-Strike: Source players to play-test the game and give feedback.[9]

At E3 2012, Valve announced that Global Offensive would be released August 21, 2012 on all platforms, with an open beta starting roughly a month before that.[26][27] It was never released on the PlayStation Network in Europe.
Post-release

Global Offensive initially launched with four game modes: Classic Casual, Competitive, Demolition, and Arms Race, and several official maps for each of the game modes. The Deathmatch game mode as well as more official maps, some user-made, were added post-release. The mechanics for the Hostage Scenario were revamped post-release. New weapons, such as the CZ-75 Auto, were added post release. The statistics for the weapons and the layout of the maps were modified post-release for competitive balance.[18]

Cosmetic items, such as weapon finishes, were added on August 13, 2013 in a major update named the "Arms Deal" update. Most cosmetic items are received via game-end drops and opening virtual crates with keys that can be bought through microtransactions, similar to the item drop systems in Team Fortress 2 and Dota 2. These items can also be traded between players through the Steam trading system or the Steam Community Market.[8]

Valve enabled Steam Workshop support for Global Offensive, allowing users to upload user-created content, such as maps, weapon finishes, and custom gameplay scenarios, and subscribe to user-uploaded maps to download them. In previous versions of Counter-Strike, players had to download maps through third party sites or while attempting to connect to a server. The Steam Workshop is controlled by Valve, and they reserve the right to remove content.

Valve supported community map-makers in the form of "operations", which act like expansion packs and require players purchase "operation passes" to play community made maps on Valve's official servers (this does not affect the map being played on community servers), with the exception of Operation Breakout which doesn't require the player to buy a pass. Each operation only lasts a certain amount of time before a new operation is released, requiring players to buy a new pass.[28][29] A portion of the income generated through pass sales is given to the creators of the maps.[30]

Popular user-created weapon finishes will have the chance to be added in the game as official cosmetic items in updates, where they can be received in virtual crates. A portion of the income generated through the sale of keys in order to receive these finishes is given to the creators of the weapon finishes.[8][31]

An October 2014 update added "music kits", which replace the default in-game music with music from nine soundtrack artists commissioned by Valve. If a player with a music kit equipped becomes the round's most valuable player, their music will play for others at the end of the round. There is a feature to allow kits to be borrowed, and kits can be sold and exchanged through the Community Market.[32]

A November 2014 update added 44 campaign multiplayer missions and a "journal" for tracking player statistics.[33]
Tournaments

In CS:GO, in addition to normal tournament circuits hosted by third-party organisations, Valve organizes or co-sponsors a series of events itself, referred to as 'majors'. These events are special in that they have large prize pools, which are crowdfunded by the CS:GO community via in-game keys bought to open in-game cases,[34][35] and special in-game cosmetics - usually in the form of stickers that can applied to guns with the qualified teams logo, or used to predict the results of the tournament - are introduced into the game, and are purchasable from Valve during the duration of the tournament.Swedish team Fnatic won the DreamHack SteelSeries Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Championship in December 2013, with an entire tournament prize pool of $250,000.[39] Virtus.pro won the EMS One Katowice 2014 championship, with another prize pool of $250,000.[35] Ninjas in Pyjamas won the ESL One Cologne tournament at Gamescom in 2014, with again another prize pool of $250,000.[40] Team LDLC.com won Dreamhack Winter 2014.[41] On March 15, 2015, Fnatic won their second major at ESL Katowice 2015, beating Ninjas in Pyjamas.[42]

As of March 18, 2015, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournaments have awarded over $3.8 million in prize money, with over $1.3 million won by Swedish players.

GTA V - LATEST NEWS Source GTA V OFFICIAL PAGE

The newest round of Rockstar Verified GTA Online Jobs features a mixture of Land Races, Deathmatches and Captures that have caught our eye recently. Ten new Jobs have been given our stamp of approval, including Races perfect for drifting (and some of the retro rides included in The "I'm Not a Hipster" Update), a Deathmatch on a wasted bridge and a Capture Job featuring a gang of angry hipsters stashing contraband in 24/7 stores.
Read on for all the details on these new Verified Jobs and click each Job title to add it to your game's bookmarked Jobs. And keep an eye out for more Rockstar Verified Jobs in the very near future, including the chosen selections from our #ImNotAHipster Event Weekend Creator Competition.

Taking in the view in Holy Drift Mountain

Holy Drift Mountain - created by Heavy Magic
This Lap Race for Sports cars takes us along a picturesque route from downtown Vinewood, through Vinewood Hills and back again. Ambient traffic is disabled by default so that you can really carve up the winding, high speed corners in search of perfect lines - just don't get too distracted by the stunning view on the way down. Before getting Verified, Holy Drift Mountain had been played nearly 6,000 times and its popularity is entirely justified.
Far Out LOOP - created by Pakelikea
This technical road Race twists around the vineyards of Grapeseed and has Supercars as its default class. Several tight turns and hazards such as farm equipment and drainage ditches create plenty of opportunities to tangle with the opposition, and a looping section maximizes the chances for collisions as the pack spreads out. A great spectacle, don't be surprised to see this one in our live streamed Crew Battles soon.

Sky high combat in Maze Bank Fight

The Maze Bank Fight - created by N7 - Devestator
A Contend Capture of epic proportions, this Job sees two teams battle it out in Buzzards over a single Capture Object on top of the Maze Bank Tower. As if that weren't a tall order in itself, RPG wielding goons on the helipad won’t make it any easier. Once players have collected the package, they can either get back in their helicopter and fly back to their base, or parachute off and race back at ground level.
Hipster Happy Hour - created by Foghat1977
A shining example of quality over quantity, Hipster Happy Hour is only the second Job Foghat1977 has published, but this exciting Sports Race through Downtown and Vinewood shows considerable talent. Bearing some similarity to the popular Rockstar Created Race “Downtown Underground”, it works well with Traffic off and features excellent Prop placement to form a couple of unexpected corners.

Fighting over a loose bag in Hold: Shopping Spree

Hold: Shopping Spree - created by Skilledscout
Skilledscout, the leader of the Sir In A Suit Crew, gets down to business with this sprawling Hold Capture set around the beachfront villas of Chumash. The coastal town is really brought to life by dangerous Actors occupying shops and protecting the Capture Objects at all costs. Once you've managed to elude them, the escape path to each Capture Point is a breezy dash along the Great Ocean Highway. Just hope an opponent isn't waiting for you when you get there.
Marios Race - created by Fifides
Set in downtown Los Santos this short Lap Race sends Sports cars weaving through highway and street-level traffic, and features a solid mix of sharp turns and wide straights for overtaking. It's also well suited to Compacts. A savvy racer might want to hang back in second place going into the final straight and use slipstream to power over the small ramp just before the finish line.

A wasted bridge is the setting for an intimate shootout in Quarantine

Quarantine - created by Raymond Calitri
"The bridge is dead. Fight to survive." reads the description for this Deathmatch set on a section of the Elysian Fields Freeway that comes from a regular on GTAForums’ content subforum. Fitting the ‘quarantine’ theme quite nicely, weapons and ammo are limited and the road is littered with wrecked vehicles so tactical play and ammo scavenging are crucial.
Obstacle What? - created by GSXR01570
GSXR's motto is "Work Hard, Play Hard, Game Harder" and it's clearly paying off judging by this challenging obstacle Motorbike Race. You start out in downtown Los Santos, and race to the edge of the Grand Senora Desert and back. Along the way you’ll have to deal with high speed chicanes, obstacle jumps and up to 15 other players vying for position.
Rattlesnake Run - created by a_smitty56
Nonchalant Dominance Crew member a_smitty56's Supercar Race takes place on the road section around the El Burro Heights oil field. We used part of this route in Rockstar Created Race “Dock Ring” but it's a surprisingly underused location among the Creator community. Lots of twists, turns and wooden fences that you can push other players through make for a competitive Race where aggression is a virtue.

Taking to the surf to score some kills in Sonuva Beach

Sonuva Beach - created by Handcuff Charlie
Handcuff_charlie's first Verified Job Pier Pressure II has already seen plenty of play time in our Rockstar live-streams. Sonuva Beach is another creation showcased on GTAForums - a tight little Deathmatch that’s been marked out entirely with user-placed Props on the Palomino Highlands Beach. Clearly a lot of thought has gone into Prop placement to give this DM a central ‘focus’, choke points and alternate routes. Weapons are restricted to shotguns but grenade and Molotov pickups are placed around the map to spice things up and provide tactical variety.

Please note that in addition to occasionally changing Job names due to taste, copyright or other reasons - we also from time to time will make other small edits to players' Jobs before making them Rockstar Verified. This includes, but is not limited to modifying spawn points, improving checkpoints or increasing/decreasing the amount of weapon picks ups for a particular Job. Once Jobs are Rockstar Verified, they become available for play across both platforms, so whether you're on Xbox 360 or PS3, you'll have all these newly Verified creations available in your next Freemode session (you can also bookmark them at the Social Club for easy access in your next session).

Go ahead and post your Job below in the comments (only once, please don't spam) with a punchy explanation of why it's worth checking out. We're always looking for new player-created Jobs to add to the Rockstar Verified program and the best way to get noticed is to have a solid Race or Deathmatch that's been thoroughly tested by the community and refined into the most fun and fair experience it can be.

There are also three new Gang Attacks in Chumash, East Vinewood and Mirror Park.
Parachuting Airwaves (Rank 15, 1-8 Players)
Students of style know that what comes up must go down. Drop 4,370 feet while imagining you're over all the bands you listen to on Radio Mirror Park, as you twist and turn sharply down to the pond below.
Race Beach Odyssey (Rank 15, 1-16 Players)
Nothing says artistic credibility like a grainy image of trash next to a burnt out RV, so get your butt off a nice beach, and go to a nasty one. This is a Point to Point Race for Sports Classics starting in Chumash, ending in Sandy Shore, mainly on-road with opportunities to hit top speed.
Race Before It Was Cool (Rank 15, 1-8 Players)
Any skinny jeans wearer will tell you, sometimes things just don't fit. Try and squeeze up to eight compact cars around the tight corners of this lap Race in Mirror Park.
Race Caffeine Rush (Rank 1, 1-8 Players)
If your friends caught you drinking anything except a flat white at an independent coffee house it would be social suicide, but when you need java, you need java. This is a Point to Point Sedan Race from Del Perro to Mirror Park passing by four 'Cool Beans' coffee shops.
Capture Contend: Condo-monium (Rank 1, 2-8 Players)
Make a statement about late capitalism or income equality or art or pointless statements or something by trashing condos in Puerto Del Sol. This is a Contend style Capture going for the last of the party supplies in the courtyard between two identical apartment blocks.
Last Team StandingEast Vinewood LTS (Rank 9, 2-16 Players)
They don't know how it started, maybe two girls got the same tattoo, or reposted a Snapmatic without giving photo credit. What they do know is sides have been chosen and East Vinewood's gone to hell in this two team Last Team Standing.
Race Embracing America (Rank 1, 1-8 Players)
All your friends are going East in search of the last un-gentrified patch of turf in the country, and you're heading West. Load up a so-uncool-it's-cool Sedan, and race toward Little Seoul. Lots of straights and a few tight turns at the end of this point to point track.
Capture GTA: Grab a Cab (Rank 1, 2-8 Players)
After twelve hours 'rolling' at your local post-industrial techno-house night, your tattooed friends will be too wide-eyed to drive themselves. Pick up some taxis for them in this two team GTA-style Capture based around the Downtown Cab Co depot in East Vinewood.
Race Hip to be Cool (Rank 1, 1-8 Players)
Because driving around Rockford Hills in nice cars is too mainstream, and going through Vespucci Beach in low riders is kinda yesterday... This Compact class Race takes you back and forth over the Los Santos Freeway and in and out of the Casino parking lot.
Survival Legion Square Survival (Rank 25, 1-4 Players)
Freedom of speech is dead as the cops crack down on Legion Square protesters. Battle the police on foot, in SUVs, and eventually in Buzzard helicopters. And remember that the real bad guys are the bankers looking down on the action from their office windows.
Team Deathmatch Puerto Del Sol (Rank 1, 2-8 Players)
Every artist wanted to die young, then they wanted to mock their predecessors with an ironic statement about dying young, now it's a post-ironic statement and they might end up actually dying.
Race Trend Setting (Rank 1, 1-16 Players)
A Lap circuit Race with muscle cars around Mirror Park for simple people who want to seem complicated.

The brand new Dubsta unlocks at Rank 100 and can accommodate up to 6 players, perfect for rolling out in force with Crew members.

There are also tons of tweaks and updates made to Grand Theft Auto Online as part of this update. A few notable ones include:
  • Ten existing GTAV vehicles have been added to the southernsanandreassuperautos.com website for purchase, including Story Mode characters’ vehicles:
    • Albany Primo
    • BF Surfer
    • Bravado Buffalo
    • Franklin's Bravado Buffalo S
    • Bravado Youga
    • Cheval Picador
    • Dundreary Regina
    • Karin Rebel (clean version)
    • Trevor's Nagasaki Hot Rod Blazer
    • Michael's Obey Tailgater
  • Pure Gold and Brushed Gold paint colors have been added to LS Customs in the ‘Metals’ category. These unlock at Rank 100.
  • A new Pure Black window tint has been added to LS Customs, along with four new jazzy vehicle horns (including one which loops and speeds up / slows down as you drive).
  • Eight new individual player celebrations and four new paired Celebration animations have been added.
  • Players will no longer be charged Insurance costs if their vehicle is destroyed by another player who does not have enough GTA$ to pay.
  • Fixed an issue where, if an insured Personal Vehicle was destroyed, both parties had to pay the insurance costs.
  • Fixed an issue where some four-wheel drive vehicles had reverted to two-wheel drive.
  • Players are now able to bookmark Jobs whilst in a Playlist from the Pause menu.
  • Tear Gas now does more damage and lasts longer.

Social Club member schoolboy129 gives new meaning to the term "shot for shot remake" here, using the AP Pistol  and some very accurate targeting to muralize a few familiar faces on the streets of Los Santos. In addition to popular GTA characters like Trevor and Ryder seen above, there are also some fun tributes to Springfield's most notorious problem child and lots of others amidst schoolboy's Snapmatic gallery.

Daniele D'Adamo, known as DDJunior on the Italian GTA-Expert fan forum, has been working on a GTA-inspired miniature series for quite some time. Following the release of the limited-edition Claude action figure as a part of the Grand Theft Auto III 10 Year Anniversary Collection a few years back, Daniele worked to provide Claude with a proper habitat by recreating the original Portland safe house from GTA3. Daniele then took it to the next level with homemade Niko Bellic and Michael De Santa action figures seen above, along with a highly detailed diorama set based on the Vangelico Heist mission in GTAV. In this week's roundup of awesome Grand Theft Auto inspired fan art, the GTAAdventures subreddit puts on a Daft Punk tribute concert in Los Santos, an Italian artist shows off his amazing custom-made GTA character action figures and dioramas, plus dispatches from the fan fic San Andreas Alternative News, an illustrative imagining of Franklin's Snapmatic feed and more.

Shanen, the talented artist formerly known for the radiopappa tumblr (now epsee.tumblr) responsible for the GTAV Bullworth Alternate Universe continues to amaze with her original creative pieces. Enjoy the above illos of Franklin's imagined Snapmatic posts, and she's also been featuring a very fun 'GTAV anime' series as well. Source: epsee.tumblr.

"Oh Show me the way to Sandy Shores I've spent all my money on meth and whores." Illustrator Rotzlöffel did this striking piece at loeffeldraws.tumblr entitled "What a Trevor dreams of" - originally in black-and-white, then brought to an appropriate fever pitch with awesomely vivid coloring as seen above.

The /r/GTAA community has been pulling off some legendary Snapmatic homages for quite a while now, and there's no signs of them slowing down given this recent photo shoot combining the motorcycle masks, the Jazz Hands toasts coming from the audience and the orange exhaust smoke (cleverly emanating from an offscreen car) to make for an epic Daft Punk tribute concert. Graphic designer Ollie Hoff shared his stylish GTAV fan art with us on Twitter that also received some love on reddit as well. Hoff even made a handy portrait version that works very nicely as a mobile wallpaper

Gamers in the US spent over $15 billion on video games in 2013

Gamers in the US spent over $15 billion on video games in 2013

According to a report published by the market research company The NPD Group, gamers in the United States spent $15.39 billion on game content in 2013, up 1% from the previous year.
The report breaks down the spending starting with "$6.34 billion spent in the U.S. by consumers on new physical video and PC game software," with used and rental spending reaching $1.83 billion, and "content in digital format (full game and add-on content downloads, subscriptions, mobile games and social network games)," generating $7.22 billion.
"Particularly strong growth for full-game downloads and downloadable content on consoles, PCs and portable devices, along with growth in mobile games, were more than enough to offset an 11 percent decline in new physical sales, leading to a 1 percent annual growth for total content spending," the report stated.
Strong fourth quarter hardware sales were cited by the report as leading "to a positive year for the category, which ended the year 5 percent higher than 2012." The hardware and content growth over 2013 coupled together to "a 2 percent increase in overall consumer spending over 2012."
Liam Callahan, an industry analyst working for The NPD Group, is quoted in the report as saying "The bottom line is that the overall games market is growing. NPD reported declines in content and hardware spending in both 2011 and 2012, so the growth in 2013 is a positive indicator for future market growth as we enter the first full year with all three new consoles on the market."

Captain price coming to Call of Duty: Ghosts?

Captain price coming to Call of Duty: Ghosts?

Infinity Ward is teasing that Modern Warfare star Captain Price is set to make an appear in Call of Duty: Ghosts before too long.
tweet from the developer bearing the words "Price is Coming" has led to a flurry of speculation that the former-COD star is set to resurface in future DLC for the latest entry in Activision's shooter franchise.

In the image above he's pictured on the multiplayer map Stonehaven, lending credence to the idea that he's set to join the roster as a downloadable multiplayer skin, just as Simon "Ghost" Riley did for those who pre-ordered.
YouTuber TWiiNSANE did some digging and, though the video has since been taken down by Activision, he claims a personalisation pack is on the way on February 18, that'll include a Price-themed player skin, weapon camo, reticle, patch, playercard and background.
Is it legit? Thankfully, we won't have long to wait before finding out.
